The Heat Gun Method
- Protective gloves
- 1 Heat gun
Using the heat gun approximately 5in away from the shaft, heat the end of the shaft.
Rotate the shaft every 5-10 seconds to heat each faces evenly.
**Avoid directing the heat on the plastic stick tip. Direct heat on the tip will melt and damage the tip.
Using both hands, while wearing protective gloves, gently pull the stick tip out of the shaft.
The Water Method (Tribe recommendation)
- Protective gloves
- 1 Stove top pot
- 1 Heat resistant pot, ex: Pyrex cup
Bring approximately 3 cups of water to a boil on your stove top.
Transfer boiling water in a heat resistance pot.
This step is important to make sure that your stick tip will not be in contact with metal that received direct heat from the stove top.
Place stick tip in water making sure that the water level is at least 2in above the tip/shaft joint.
Leave stick and tip in water for 1 minute.
Using both hands, while wearing protective gloves, gently pull the stick tip out of the shaft.
